How to keep emails confidential in Sutton email?

Zoho Mail has introduced a new feature called SecurePass Email that provides secure sharing of sensitive information through email.
To prevent clients from forwarding, downloading, or printing your content, you can secure it with a passcode and expiration date.

How does SecurePass Email work?
  1. You can click on the SecurePass icon next to the Send button in the compose window to protect your email with a SecurePass code

  1. Choose the Mail expiry date using the options provided in the drop-down menu.  (You can also choose a custom date for the email to expire)
  2. Click Apply
  3. Compose the email and click Send.
  4. The recipient receives a 'Secure Pass + Subject' Email

  1. Recipient has to confirm the identity, by clicking 'Send SecurePass Code'
  2. A second email will arrive with the confirmation code

  1. Enter the code in the pop-up and click 'Verify

  • Upon verification, the content in the email will be displayed.

Modify / Revoke Access to a SecurePass Email
  1. Login to https://mail.suttton.com
  2. Navigate to the Sent folder in your mailbox.
  3. Click on the SecurePass email (with the Securelock icon) for which you want to Modify/ Revoke the access.
In the mail preview tab, click on the necessary options:
  1. Modify - You can change the expiry date of the email and apply the changes.
  2. Revoke - You can revoke access to the email for the recipient. When you revoke access, the recipients will no longer be able to view this secure email.
Upon revoking the access, the recipients will get the Access revoked alert when they try to access the link to the email content.

Things to consider:
  1. The information in the email is only accessible to the intended recipient when they use the SecurePass code sent to their inbox.
  2. The recipient cannot forward the email to others.
  3. They also cannot download, print, or copy and paste the email content.
  4. After the set expiry date, the email's contents will no longer be accessible to the recipients.
  5. The recipient needs to enter OTP Passphrase or Secure Code in his/her mailbox, without the information the Secure email won't be readable
